In a notification issued on April 11, 2026, the Government of India said the Commission will hold interaction sessions in Delhi later this month, followed by visits to other cities.
The Commission will conduct meetings in New Delhi on April 28, 29 and 30. These sessions will give employee unions and associations a chance to present their demands and suggestions.
Interested groups have been asked to first submit a memorandum on the official website (8cpc.gov.in). After that, they need to request an appointment via email before April 20, along with the unique memo ID generated during submission.
The government also clarified that venue details and the exact meeting schedule will be shared later.
The consultation process will continue beyond Delhi. The Commission is scheduled to visit Pune, Maharashtra, on May 4 and 5.
Central government organisations, institutions, and employee groups in the region can also take part by submitting their memoranda online and requesting an appointment within the given deadline.
This is just the beginning. The government has made it clear that more meetings will be held in Delhi and across other states in the coming weeks.

The 8th Central Pay Commission is headed by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai as Chairperson. Professor Pulak Ghosh is serving as a part-time member, while Pankaj Jain is the Member-Secretary.
Alongside consultations, the government is also looking to bring in additional expertise. On April 10, 2026, it issued a circular inviting applications for consultants on a contractual basis.
The initial term will be one year or until the Commission’s tenure ends, whichever comes earlier. However, there is scope for extension based on performance and professional conduct.
These meetings mark the first step in shaping salary revisions for central government employees and pensioners.
With consultations now underway, expectations around pay, allowances and benefits are likely to gain momentum in the coming months.
