Erode-based value added dairy products company Miky Mist has clarified in a filing to the stock exchanges that it has not received any notice from FSSAI or the Tamil Nadu Food Safety Department directing an inquiry into its paneer products.
The clarification comes after some media reports on Thursday alleged that the Central Food Safety Department had instructed the Tamil Nadu Food Safety Department to submit samples of Milky Mist’s paneer for laboratory testing. The reports also said that the action was taken after tests revealed poor quality of Milky Mist Paneer.
“The company will appropriately respond to any communication received from the concerned authorities and take necessary action, if any, in accordance with applicable law,” it said.
The development comes amid a widespread crackdown on adulterated and analogue paneer by India’s food safety regulator.
