Paytm has introduced ‘Playback’, an -powered feature that converts users’ monthly spending data into personalized rap songs, the company announced Monday.
The feature, currently in beta and available to select high-transaction users, appears in the app’s ‘Balance & History’ section. It analyzes spending patterns across categories including shopping, food, travel, and utilities, then generates custom rap lyrics summarizing the user’s expenses from the previous month.
Users can access Playback by updating to the latest version of the Paytm app and tapping the feature’s banner in the Balance & History section. The AI processes spending data to create a shareable rap song that users can listen to and share with friends.
A company spokesperson said the feature aims to make expense tracking more engaging for younger users who “consume their world as content.” The company positions Playback as a tool to encourage financial awareness by transforming routine expense statements into an interactive experience.
Paytm described itself as India’s leading merchant payments platform serving small and medium businesses, as well as enterprises. The company, officially known as One 97 Communications Limited, pioneered mobile QR code payments and the Soundbox technology in India.
The feature joins other recent Paytm innovations including spending reminders, monthly summaries, personalized UPI IDs, and transaction management tools designed to enhance user convenience and financial tracking.
