’s Minerals & Metals business vertical has won multiple large orders in India, the engineering conglomerate announced today.
The company secured a contract from Hindalco to construct a 180,000 tonnes per annum aluminium smelter and Gas Treatment Centre for a greenfield project in Odisha. The smelter work covers civil and structural works, supply and erection, while the GTC project involves complete engineering, procurement, construction and plant installation.
L&T also bagged an order from Tata Steel’s Jamshedpur facility for a 1 million tonnes per annum Coke Oven Battery 6 A/B. This project encompasses engineering, manufacturing, supply, construction and plant installation.
Additionally, the company’s Product Business Unit won multiple orders from various clients across India for mining and material handling equipment, including stacker reclaimers, wagon tipplers, crushers and surface miners.
T Kumaresan, Senior Vice President and Head of Minerals & Metals at L&T, said the wins across aluminium and steel sectors demonstrate the company’s engineering excellence and execution capability. He added that the orders strengthen L&T’s role in India’s industrial infrastructure development.
L&T has maintained a partnership with Hindalco for over three decades, supporting expansion programmes across alumina, aluminium and copper plants. According to L&T’s classification, large orders range between ₹2,500 crore and ₹5,000 crore in value.
The shares of Larsen & Toubro Limited were trading at ₹3,927.20 up by ₹8.50 or 0.22 per cent on the today at 11.55 am.
