Sensex jumps 800 points, Nifty 50 reclaims 26,100— Why is the Indian stock market rising? Explained

The Indian stock market saw strong gains in intraday trade on Wednesday, November 26, amid positive global cues. The Sensex jumped nearly 800 points, or almost 1%, to an intraday high of 85,376.98, while the Nifty 50 rose by 1% to a day’s high of 26,130.90.

The gains were broad-based as the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices jumped by more than 1% each during the session.

Investors’ wealth increased by about 5 lakh crore as the overall market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms rose to nearly 474 lakh crore from 469 lakh crore in the previous session.
