Shakti Pumps surges 4.5% on orders worth ₹539 crores

Shakti Pumps (India) Limited shares rallied 4.5 per cent to ₹786.05 on Tuesday afternoon, up ₹33.85 from the previous close of ₹752.20. The stock opened at ₹761 and touched an intraday high of ₹796.20, with heavy trading volumes of 175.70 lakh shares.

The surge follows recent announcements by the company regarding three substantial orders for solar water pumping systems. On December 11, Shakti Pumps received a letter of empanelment from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited for 16,025 off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems worth ₹443.78 crores under the PM-KUSUM B scheme, to be executed within 60 days.

The company secured additional orders from Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for 2,033 solar pumps valued at ₹71.25 crores with a 120-day execution timeline. A third order came from Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency for 1,200 solar water pumping systems worth ₹23.98 crores, also under the PM-KUSUM scheme.

The combined order book of ₹539.01 crores represents significant business momentum for the pump manufacturer. All three orders involve design, manufacture, supply, transport, installation, testing and commissioning of solar water pumping systems across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand.

Buy orders dominated at 54.40 per cent against 45.60 per cent sell orders during Tuesday’s trading session. The stock has gained 37.51 per cent over the past week.
