Suzlon, Yanara sign 306 MW wind turbine deal in Rajasthan

and Yanara have signed two contracts totalling 306 MW for projects in Barmer, , the companies announced today. Each contract is valued at 153 MW.

Under the agreement, Suzlon will supply and install 102 S144 wind turbine generators with hybrid lattice towers, each with a 3 MW rated capacity. The turbines will support Yanara’s firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects, with power generation helping meet purchase agreements with utilities including NTPC and NHPC.

The orders mark the second collaboration between the companies this year. Yanara previously awarded Suzlon a 29.4 MW wind contract for a 115 MW hybrid solar-wind project in Maharashtra, which is nearing completion.

Suzlon controls 44 per cent of Rajasthan’s 5.2 GW installed wind capacity, having deployed over 2.3 GW in the state. The company is currently executing additional projects totaling 791 MW in Rajasthan.

Yanara is developing grid-scale hybrid renewable projects across India combining solar, wind and energy storage to deliver round-the-clock clean power. The company has secured power purchase agreements for over 900 MWp of installed capacity and is backed by ACEN in India.

The Rajasthan projects are part of Yanara’s approximately 800 MWp hybrid renewable portfolio in Barmer, supporting India’s target of 500 GW non-fossil energy capacity by 2030.
