announced Thursday the launch of India’s first large-scale high-definition maps for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), covering over 1 lakh kilometres of national highways, expressways and strategic corridors.
The -based mapping company developed the HD maps with centimetre-level accuracy required for ADAS Level 2 functionality by leveraging the Survey of India’s Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) network. The maps include lane geometry, road markings, barriers, signage, elevation profiles and localisation objects processed to centimetre-grade precision.
The initiative addresses road safety concerns on India’s highways, which account for a disproportionate share of road fatalities. Unlike sensor-based ADAS systems that react to hazards, the HD maps enable vehicles to anticipate dangers through detailed contextual information about road infrastructure.
Hitesh Makwana, Surveyor General of India, said the programme demonstrates how public infrastructure and private innovation can advance national development goals. The work builds on an existing memorandum of understanding between Genesys and Survey of India for digital twin projects and national mapping programmes.
Sajid Malik, Chairman and Managing Director of Genesys, said the company is building foundational datasets required for ADAS adoption in India. The datasets are owned by Genesys and can be licensed across industries including commercial fleet navigation, logistics and automotive research and development.
The company employs over 2,000 professionals and operates a nationwide constellation of sensors for mapping projects.
The shares of Genesys International Corporation Limited were trading at ₹441.40, up by ₹27.75 pr 6.71 per cent on the today at 11.30 am.
