Sterling Tools teams up with China’s MINIEYE for India ADAS push

has partnered with Hong Kong-listed MINIEYE to deploy Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and Driver Monitoring Systems for India’s automotive market, the company announced today.

The collaboration will focus on adapting MINIEYE’s intelligent driving technologies for Indian road conditions, traffic patterns and driving environments. Sterling Tools will handle application engineering and perception tuning to ensure the systems work reliably in local scenarios rather than replicating global implementations.

The partnership targets both commercial and passenger vehicle segments, covering systems including Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning Systems, and Blind Spot Monitoring.

The tie-up comes ahead of India’s January 1, 2027 mandate requiring ADAS and Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning Systems in new vehicle models. Automakers are seeking solutions engineered specifically for Indian traffic complexity and operating conditions while meeting regulatory requirements.

MINIEYE, founded in 2014, supplies intelligent driving and cabin solutions across Europe, the UK, Australia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and South America. Its systems comply with EU General Safety Regulation requirements and hold Automotive SPICE V4.0 CL3 certification.

Sterling Tools manufactures automotive fasteners and has been expanding into EV power electronics, high-voltage contactors and motor solutions through its subsidiaries Sterling E-Mobility Solutions and Sterling Tech-Mobility.
