Stock market today: The Indian stock market witnessed significant selling across segments in the morning session of trade on Friday, February 27, amid mixed global cues. The Sensex declined nearly 600 points, or 0.70%, to an intraday low of 81,673, while the Nifty 50 dropped more than 200 points, or 0.80%, to 25,292 in the morning trade. The mid and small-cap indices on the BSE declined by up to 1% during the session.

Investors got poorer by more than 3 lakh crore as the overall market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms dropped to below 465 lakh crore from 468.5 lakh crore in the previous session.
