Vinci has agreed to buy a toll highway portfolio in India from Macquarie Asia Infrastructure Fund 2 in a deal valued at about ₹15,000 crore ($1.6 billion), the French infrastructure firm said on Thursday.
Vinci said the portfolio includes nine concessions for almost 700 kilometres of highway sections in key areas of India’s road network, including a section of the corridor linking the cities of Kolkata and Chennai.
The deal has “significant potential for value creation”, the company said, adding that revenues generated by the toll highways depend on traffic.
