The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has uprated the capacity of two units (Units 5 and 6) of Dadri Thermal Power Station from 490 MW each to 500 MW each with effect from April 7. With this, the total installed capacity of the NTPC group stands at 89,128 MW and commercial capacity at 88,048 MW. NTPC Ltd has signed a Non-Binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Électricité de France (EDF) to explore cooperation in developing new nuclear power projects in India. This follows approval from the concerned ministries & departments of the Government of India. The MoU was signed by Arnada Prasad Samal, CGM (Nuclear Cell), on behalf of NTPC, and Vakisasi Ramany, Senior Vice President, International Nuclear Development, on behalf of EDF.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved investment of ₹26,069.50 crore for the construction of 1720 MW Kamala Hydro Electric Project (HEP) in Kamle, Kra Daadi & Kurung Kumey Districts of Arunachal Pradesh. The estimated completion period for the project is 96 months. The installed capacity of Kamala HEP is 1720 MW (8 x 210 MW & 1 x 40 MW), which is expected to generate 6870 MUs of energy annually. The Project will be implemented through a Joint Venture Company between NHPC Ltd and the Government. of Arunachal Pradesh. The Government of India shall extend ₹4,743.98 crore as budgetary support towards the flood moderation component and ₹1,340 crore as budgetary support for enabling infrastructure, viz., construction of roads, bridges and associated transmission system, besides Central Financial Assistance of ₹750 crore towards the equity share of the State.

The contract period is from April 15, 2026, (08:00 hrs) to April 15, 2027 (07:59 hrs). The contract size is Rs. 99.35 crore for FY 2025-26.

Suraj Ltd has formally notified the stock exchanges of a strategic capacity expansion project at its manufacturing facility. The company revealed plans to enhance its production capabilities, specifically targeting larger diameter pipes to meet growing domestic demand. The project aims to modernise the production line and increase total output by 40 per cent. Manufacturing Capability: The company is upgrading its facility to produce pipes with an Outside Diameter (OD) of up to 170 mm. Total capacity will rise from the existing 5,000 MT per annum to 7,000 MT per annum. The project involves a capital expenditure of approximately ₹15 Crore. The expansion will be funded entirely through internal accruals, indicating a strong cash position and zero additional debt for this project. The enhanced capacity is expected to be operational by September 2026.

Sprang is a globally recognised brand with strong sales volumes in international markets, including China, Russia, the Middle East, and CIS countries. RedTape said it plans to launch Sprandi in India through online and retail stores, targeting large sales volumes.

The U.S. FDA has approved Lupin’s Dapagliflozin and Metformin Hydrochloride Extended-Release Tablets as bioequivalent to Xigduo® XR for the indications in the approved labelling.
Zydus Lifesciences Ltd has received final approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for Dapagliflozin Tablets, 5 mg and 10 mg (USRLD: Farxiga® Tablets, 5 mg and 10 mg). Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. With this approval, Zydus is eligible for 180 days of shared generic drug exclusivity for Dapagliflozin Tablets, 5 mg and 10 mg.
