Russia restricts helium exports amid global supply concerns

Russia has imposed
temporary ‌export restrictions on helium in order to maintain a
stable ‌supply to the ‌domestic market, ‌Interfax news agency
quoted a government decree as saying on ‌Tuesday.

Russia is the third-largest global producer of ‌helium,
although it trails far behind the United States and ‌Qatar.

The war in the Middle East has tightened the ‌supply of
helium, which is used in the manufacture of fibre optics and
semiconductors.
