Bajaj Auto on Tuesday announced the launch of its electric three-wheeler portfolio under the brand Bajaj WEGO, marking what it said is the widest range of electric three-wheeler products in India.
The company said the platform delivers a class-leading range of up to 296 km, supported by an electric drivetrain featuring a two-speed automatic transmission, an advanced battery management system, and regenerative braking.
Features and technology highlights
The WEGO range comes equipped with features such as Bluetooth connectivity, a digital LCD display cluster, hill hold, climb mode, and enhanced gradability. It also offers increased passenger space, improved legroom, and an ergonomic design that facilitates ease of entry and exit for drivers. The vehicles are backed by a five-year warranty, roadside assistance, and access to over 1,500 sales and service touchpoints.
Passenger segment portfolio and pricing
In the passenger segment, the 50 Series (P5009 and P5012), designed for intra-city and contract carriage use, offers ARAI-certified ranges of 213 km and 272 km, priced at ₹3,11,908 and ₹3,69,301, respectively (ex-showroom Delhi). The 70 Series (P7009 and P7012), positioned for shared commuting in urban and semi-urban markets, offers ranges of 182 km and 259 km, priced at ₹3,23,001 and ₹3,63,062 (special introductory price).
At the higher end, the 90 Series (P9018), positioned as an extra-large people carrier for semi-urban and rural applications, offers an ARAI range of 296 km at ₹4,48,303.
Cargo segment offerings
In the cargo segment, the C9009 and C9012 models are designed for last-mile goods movement, offering ARAI ranges of 149 km and 207 km, priced at ₹3,87,371 and ₹4,34,128, respectively.
With this launch, Bajaj Auto said it aims to strengthen its position in the electric three-wheeler segment by offering a diversified portfolio catering to varying price points and usage requirements in last-mile mobility. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
