Toyota to build new 100,000-units-a-year car factory in India

Toyota said ‌on Monday it would ​build ⁠a new 100,000-vehicles-a-year factory ‌in Maharashtra, India ‌that ‌would ⁠begin production ⁠in the first half of ​2029.

The ‌plant, to be located in the ‌region’s ​Bidkin Industrial Area, will ⁠manufacture a new SUV ‌model and would employ about 2,800 people, ‌the Japanese ​automaker said in a ⁠statement.
