Artificial Intelligence (AI) is often seen as either exciting or intimidating. While some worry about machines replacing jobs, others believe the technology could unlock new opportunities. Joining the growing conversation around AI, Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal has urged young Indians not to fear the technology but to use it to improve productivity and build new ideas.
In a post on X, Agarwal described AI as a powerful tool that can save time, improve efficiency and even help India move closer to becoming a developed nation.
Sharing his personal experience, Agarwal said AI has helped him save a significant amount of time and improve productivity.
“Sometimes I get a sense that people fear AI. Nobody should. Use it. Ask it the right questions. I have experienced that it saves 75% of my time. And time is money. It will improve your productivity like you would never have imagined.”
The billionaire businessman encouraged people to see AI as a tool rather than something to be afraid of. According to him, asking the right questions can help people get better results and work more efficiently.
Agarwal also pointed to China’s rapid progress in , saying the country has moved closer to the United States in the AI race in a short period.
He suggested that the global technology landscape has changed quickly and countries that embrace AI early could gain a major advantage.
“Look at what China has done with AI. In the last year or two, it has come almost level with America, leaving everyone else behind. The whole game has changed.”
His remarks come at a time when countries across the world are investing heavily in AI technologies, from automation tools to advanced language models.
Agarwal believes India has a natural advantage in using AI because of its strong technology talent and English-speaking workforce.
He said young Indians, in particular, should explore AI to develop business ideas, improve strategies and build entrepreneurship opportunities.
“Indians have the DNA for tech. We speak English. And we can leverage AI better than everyone. Youngsters should use it to develop ideas and strategies for entrepreneurship.”
According to him, AI can do much more than improve workplace productivity. He believes the technology can help create jobs, reduce poverty and support India’s long-term economic growth.
Ending his message with optimism, Agarwal said AI could play an important role in helping India achieve the goal of becoming a developed country.
“It is the best tool to take our nation forward, to create jobs, to eradicate poverty and to fulfil the dream of our Prime Minister of a Viksit Bharat. Please embrace AI. The results will be phenomenal.”
