A fire broke out in a flat on the 12th floor of a 28-storey residential tower at Ivy County Society in Noida’s Sector 75 on Friday morning, triggering a full-scale evacuation of the building as thick black smoke engulfed the high-rise.
The blaze erupted around 8 am and quickly spread through the apartment, with flames visible from a distance, news agency PTI reported.
Firefighters and police personnel rushed to the scene after receiving an alert and launched an operation to contain the fire.

Residents fled the building through staircases amid panic, while authorities evacuated the entire tower and shifted occupants of nearby flats to safer locations as a precautionary measure.
Officials said no injuries or casualties had been reported till the filing of this report. The cause of the fire remains unknown and is under investigation.

In a separate incident, a fire broke out in a flat in Noida’s Sector 100 early Thursday after a short circuit in an air conditioner’s indoor unit, fire officials said, adding that no injuries or casualties were reported.
The incident came days after a blaze erupted on the 27th floor of the same residential society on May 22, which was also attributed to a short circuit in an AC unit.
According to the fire department, Noida has recorded 88 fire incidents linked to air conditioners over the past two months, with such cases witnessing a spike during the summer season.
