Ambuja Neotia Group is planning to add around 1,800 beds across eight upcoming healthcare facilities in the next four to five years at an investment of around ₹2,200 crore.
The healthcare vertical of the Kolkata-based group, Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture (ANHVL), currently has four healthcare facilities across West Bengal and Assam with around 700 beds.
ANHVL is looking to operationalise a 120-bed woman and child care facility in West Bengal’s Howrah district by April, 2029 with an outlay of around ₹150 crore.
“We currently have eight projects under development in Eastern India. We are planning to add around 1,800 beds across these eight upcoming healthcare facilities to increase total number of beds to around 2,500 in the next four to five years,” Parthiv Neotia, Managing Director, Ambuja Neotia, said on Friday.
“Our endeavour has always been to make quality healthcare more accessible to communities across the region. The upcoming woman and child care facility in Howrah is a significant step in that direction. While our existing healthcare facilities are spanning across various locations in Kolkata, Siliguri and Guwahati, we identified Howrah as a key growth corridor with a growing need for specialised women and child healthcare services,” Neotia added.
For its upcoming woman and child care facility in West Bengal’s Durgapur, ANHVL has partnered with Amit Metaliks, which will provide land and construct the facility. “This ₹100-crore project is under construction. We expect to start the facility in the next 18 months,” Neotia said. Amit Metaliks operates in steel, mining, and infrastructure sectors.
Going forward, the group would explore the possibility of such an “asset-light model” for some of its new healthcare projects. “From a cash flow point of view, this model is better. We are open to finding partners. We are actively looking at many of the regional markets in the East,” the MD added.
