Capital markets regulator SEBI on Friday extended the timeline for implementation of norms governing base price, price bands, call auction in the pre-open session and close-out procedure for ETFs by a week.

The provisions, which were earlier scheduled to come into effect from September 1, will now be implemented from September 7, 2026, the regulator said in a circular.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) said the timeline was extended based on the feedback received from the stock exchanges and to ensure smooth implementation of the provisions.

The markets watchdog has issued a circular on June 15, 2026, laying down various norms related to base price, price bands, call auction in pre-open session and Close-out procedure for Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs).

All other provisions of the June 15 circular will remain unchanged, it said.

It advised market infrastructure institutions (MIIs) to take necessary steps and put in place systems for implementation of the norms.

They have also been asked to make amendments to relevant bye-laws, rules and regulations, wherever required and inform market participants, including investors, about the provisions.
