This followed banks mobilising a staggering $127.226 billion in fresh, which was open from June 8 to August 31.
Stock performance
HDFC Bank stock rose 1.6 per cent in early trade to ₹712.60 from the previous close of ₹700.80 on the NSE. At 10.33 am, it traded at ₹710.30. However, the stock opened at the day’s low of ₹705.

It had hit a 52-week low of ₹698.50 on September 1, 2026.
On a weekly basis, the stock’s absolute returns stood flat. For one month, it fell nearly 6 per cent. YTD tanked by over 28 per cent.
The total market capitalisation stood at ₹10.94 lakh crore.
The traded volume of stock stood at 105.01 lakh, with a traded value of ₹744.11 crore.
Under the private banking index, RBL Bank, Bandhan Bank, IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank also emerged as top gainers.
Nifty PSU Bank index rose close to 2 per cent to 8,658.55. All counters traded in the green, led by Bank of Maharashtra, Indian Bank, PSB and UCO Bank.
