Wheels India’s share price has been on a strong uptrend recently, defying weak stock market sentiment. On Wednesday, 9 September, Wheels India shares surged 15% to hit a 52-week high of ₹2,417.70 during the session.
The stock is up for the sixth consecutive session. In this period, has surged 57%. On a monthly scale, the stock is up 51% so far in September after a 10% rise in August.
Why is Wheels India share price rising?
The recent rise in the stock price can be attributed to the company’s healthy financial results.
Its Q1FY27 net profit rose to ₹37 crore from ₹26 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
Revenue increased to ₹1,386 crore from ₹1,187 crore in the same quarter last year.
Exports during the quarter grew 17.3% to ₹380 crore from ₹324 crore in the same quarter last year.
“The company’s sales grew along with the domestic market for cars, trucks, and agriculture tractor that continued their momentum post GST 2.0 reforms. We saw strong growth in the export of construction equipment wheels. We expect the growth momentum to continue in Q2,” said Srivats Ram, CMD, Wheels India.
What should investors do?
According to technical experts, the stock’s structure remains bullish, and a consolidation or a pullback would be healthy.
Hitesh Tailor, Technical Research Analyst at Choice Broking, said Wheels India is showing a strong bullish setup after a sharp upmove following a higher-high breakout. The stock is trading above all key EMAs, while the broader trend continues to maintain a healthy higher-high and higher-low formation.
“After the sharp rally, some retracement or profit booking cannot be ruled out. Immediate support is seen around ₹2,270, followed by ₹2,200, while the ₹2,500–2,550 zone is likely to act as the next resistance. Overall, the technical structure remains bullish, though consolidation or a pullback would be healthy,” said Tailor.
Pravesh Gour, Senior Technical Analyst at Swastika Investmart, underscored that Wheels India has witnessed a powerful breakout, with the stock surging to around ₹2,364.50 in the chart and decisively moving above its earlier resistance zone of ₹1,750– ₹1,800.
The breakout is supported by a sharp rise in volume, which strengthens the move’s validity. The stock is trading comfortably above its 20-, 50-, 100-, and 200-DMAs, indicating a strong bullish trend.
Momentum indicators are also firmly positive: MACD has given a strong bullish expansion, while RSI has moved into the overbought zone, highlighting very strong momentum but also raising the possibility of short-term profit booking.
Gour added that the current technical data also shows all major moving averages in bullish configuration and a high RSI, confirming the strength of the trend.
“From a price-action perspective, ₹1,800– ₹1,850 has now become the crucial support zone, as the stock has broken out decisively from this region. Above ₹1,800, the broader trend remains strongly bullish,” said Gour.
“On the upside, ₹2,400 is the immediate psychological resistance, and a sustained move above this level could open the door towards ₹2,500 and ₹2,600. However, given the steep vertical rally and extremely elevated RSI, chasing the stock at current levels carries a higher risk. A healthy consolidation or pullback towards ₹2,000– ₹2,100 could provide a better risk-reward opportunity,” Gour said.
“Overall view is strongly bullish, but technically overextended. Existing investors can consider holding with a trailing stop-loss, while fresh buyers should preferably wait for consolidation/pullback rather than chase the sharp rally,” Gour said.
