Value-added dairy company Milky Mist has announced the commissioning of its new Skyr and Greek Yoghurt manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu.
The unit is located within the company’s integrated manufacturing facility in Perundurai, Erode. Built with an investment of approximately ₹40 crore, the new exclusive plant has a processing capacity of up to 150 tonnes per day.
High-Protein Products
Milky Mist said it was the first company in India back in 2022 to introduce Ultrafiltration technology for manufacturing Skyr and Greek Yoghurt with growing consumer preference for high-protein nutrition. It said in a media release that the demand for high-protein yoghurts has more than doubled in recent months.
“The commissioning of our advanced manufacturing for Skyr and Greek Yoghurt represents a strategic expansion of our technological capabilities. With processing capacity of up to 150 tonnes per day, it provides us with the scale to serve rising demand, accelerate innovation and expand the category. This investment strengthens Milky Mist’s position in the high-protein segment and creates a robust platform for sustained profitable growth,” said K. K Rathnam, Wholetime Director and Chief Executive Officer, Milky Mist Dairy Food
