Diversified on Wednesday said it will invest ₹33,081 crore for setting up three projects — a thermal power plant, a cement manufacturing unit and a data centre — in Odisha.
While the thermal power plant and cement manufacturing unit will be built near Cuttack, the data centre is being set up at Info Valley in Bhubaneswar.
“We have been in Odisha for years — in ports, in mining, in the foundations of industrial infrastructure. But today is different. Today we break ground on three projects that are not simply investments in capacity. They are investments in what Odisha is becoming,” Karan Adani, Managing Director,, said at the groundbreaking ceremony in Bhubaneswar.
These three projects are expected to create a total of 9,700 jobs, directly and indirectly.
“The Data Centre at Info Valley, Bhubaneswar — an investment of ₹800 crore — is not a building full of servers. It is Odisha’s claim on the digital economy — the infrastructure through which AI, cloud computing, and digital governance will flow for decades to come,” Adani said, adding this project will create 200 high end jobs, direct and indirect, and establish the city as the technology capital of eastern India.
The thermal power plant near Cuttack will be built with an investment of ₹30,181 crore. It is expected to generate 7,000 jobs, direct and indirect, for the people of this region.
“This plant will bring stability to the grid, security to industry, and predictability to the millions of households and MSMEs whose futures depend on consistent electricity,” Adani pointed out.
The cement manufacturing unit near Cuttack will be set up with an investment of ₹2,100 crore. This plant is expected to employ 2500 people — direct and indirect.
“Taken together, these projects are a statement of belief. A belief that Odisha is not on the cusp of its moment — it is in it. That the next chapter of India’s industrial rise will be written here, in this State, by these people,” Adani added.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Minister of Industries Sampad Charan Swain, were present, among others, at the groundbreaking ceremony.
