Axiscades partners with French firm to produce falcon-like drones in India

Aerospace & Technologies Limited signed a memorandum of understanding with French drone manufacturer Electronic Bird Control on Thursday to introduce the E-Raptor drone to the Indian market. The falcon-inspired unmanned aerial vehicle will serve both military and civilian applications.

The E-Raptor uses biomimetic engineering to replicate a bird of prey’s appearance and flight patterns. AXISCADES plans to localize production in India under the Make in India initiative, according to Ravikumar Joghee, the company’s Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer.

The drone is designed for surveillance and bird control operations across defence reconnaissance, airport safety, and wildlife management. Its design allows it to operate across diverse terrains with what the companies describe as enhanced stealth and agility.

Axiscades, a subsidiary of Axiscades Technologies Limited, provides defense technology solutions and maintains relationships with India’s defense forces, Ministry of Defence, and defense public sector units. The Bangalore-headquartered firm employs over 3,000 professionals across 17 global locations.

Electronic Bird Control, founded in 2019 and based in Nimes, France, specializes in developing drones that mimic birds of prey. CEO Adrien Laffon said the partnership represents an advancement in drone technology and international collaboration.

The agreement aims to support the modernization of India’s defense capabilities while addressing civilian sector requirements for surveillance and safety operations.

Shares of AXISCADES Aerospace & Technologies Limited were trading at ₹1,474.30 down by ₹77.60 or 5 per cent, locking themselves in the lower band.
