Eco Hotels opens pure vegetarian property in Varanasi

Eco Hotels and Resorts launched Ecoxpress Satva in Varanasi on Wednesday, marking the company’s entry into the spiritual tourism segment with a specialised pure vegetarian hospitality concept. The property features 35 rooms and brings the company’s operational room count to 171.

Located in Jai Prakash Nagar near major pilgrimage sites, including Dashashwamedh Ghat and Kashi Vishwanath Temple, the hotel caters to domestic and international tourists visiting the city for religious and cultural purposes. The property positions itself as the first hotel in Varanasi to maintain completely separate kitchens, utensils and dining infrastructure for its vegetarian offerings.

Two outlets

The hotel operates two dining outlets. Sahar Restaurant serves meals following Jain and Vaishnav principles, excluding onion and garlic, while Kick in the Brick offers Pan-Asian and Continental vegetarian cuisine. Both maintain independent kitchen facilities to prevent cross-contamination.

Room amenities include 400-thread count linen, 650 GSM bath towels and eight-inch orthopaedic mattresses. The property also features a 2,000-sq-ft banquet and conference facility equipped with a 100-sq-ft LED screen for corporate and social events.

Executive Chairman Vinod K. Tripathi emphasised the company’s focus on sustainable tourism. The BSE-listed company plans additional openings in Sambhajinagar, Shirdi, Nagpur and Vadodara within six-eight months, targeting over 350 operational rooms. EaseMyTrip holds a significant stake in Eco Hotels and Resorts.
