FACT shares surge 4.48% on massive volume spike

closed at ₹896.45 on Tuesday, gaining ₹38.40 or 4.48 per cent over the previous day’s close of ₹858.05. The stock touched an intraday high of ₹923.60 before settling lower, with trading volumes surging dramatically to 2.50 lakh shares.

The flagged an extraordinary 43.72 times spike in trading volume on December 16, marking the third consecutive trading session of heightened activity. The exchange had previously noted volume increases of 2.60 times on December 15 and 1.23 times on December 9.

The Kerala-based public sector undertaking recorded a turnover of ₹22.66 crore on Tuesday, significantly higher than its two-week average volume of just 5,708 shares. The stock’s volume-weighted average price stood at ₹908.44.

FACT’s market capitalization expanded to ₹58,006.77 crore. The stock is currently trading within its 20 per cent price band, with an upper circuit at ₹1,029.65 and lower circuit at ₹686.45. The company’s 52-week high stands at ₹1,111.00, recorded earlier this year, while its 52-week low is ₹565.20.

The government-owned fertilizer manufacturer has shown strong financial performance recently, with its net profit rising 86.58 per cent to ₹20.86 crore in the September 2025 quarter compared to ₹11.18 crore in the same period last year.
