A fire broke out at Sundaram Brake Linings Limited’s Plant II in Kariapatti, Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu, at around 5:25 am on Thursday, temporarily impacting operations.
The company said the blaze was brought under control promptly and reported no casualties or injuries. However, operations in the affected section have been temporarily shut.
Preliminary estimates place the damage at about ₹2.66 crore. The company added that the impacted assets are adequately insured and the insurer has been notified, with a survey expected to be conducted soon.
