Indian crude oil tanker “Jag Laadki” docks at Mundra with UAE shipment

The Indian-flagged crude oil tanker “Jag Laadki” arrived at Mundra Port — part of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) — in Gujarat on Wednesday carrying approximately 80,886 metric tonnes (MT) of crude oil sourced from the UAE.

The tanker’s arrival comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial chokepoint for global crude shipments. Such deliveries are vital for India’s refineries to maintain uninterrupted operations and safeguard energy security despite regional instability.

The vessel, loaded at Fujairah Port, measures 274.19 meters in length and 50.04 meters in beam, with a deadweight tonnage of 164,716 tonnes and gross tonnage of 84,735 tonnes, highlighting the port’s ability to handle large-scale crude shipments.

In the last two days, two LPG tankers carrying liquefied petroleum gas from the Middle East also arrived at Mundra and Kandla ports, having transited the Strait of Hormuz.
