Jubilant FoodWorks will not renew Dunkin franchise deal

Jubilant FoodWorks on Monday said that it has decided not to renew development rights agreement for Dunkin and will exit this franchise agreement for India by end of 2026. It added that this will not have any “material impact” on the company.

In a BSE filing, the company said that its board on Monday has considered and approved the “non-renewal of the development rights granted in the Multiple Unit Development Franchise Agreement, entered into for development and operation of Dunkin’ brand in India, upon expiry of its current development term ending December 31, 2026”.

The company said it will undertake a phased and orderly evaluation of its Dunkin’ operations. This could include rationalisation or closure of certain stores, as well as the sale or transfer of assets and franchise rights, in consultation with the brand’s global owners.

The Jubilant had launched the US-based brand in India in 2012, known for its donuts and coffee offerings. However it remains a significantly low contributor and a loss making business for the company. As per the BSE filings, in FY25, the Dunkin business for the company stood at ₹372.37 crore contributing merely 0.61 per cent to JFL’s total revenues.
