Samvardhana Motherson International on Monday clarified that the is part of a broader issue affecting multiple industries and has not materially impacted its operations.
In a filing to stock exchanges, the company said recent developments reported in the media relate to labour protests in Noida and some other cities, and are not specific to any one company.
“This is a broader labour issue affecting multiple industries in Noida and some other cities, driven by misinformation being spread about wage revisions. Our operations remain compliant with all applicable laws with no material impact on the Company. The safety of our employees remains our top priority. The authorities are working closely with the industry to bring things back to normal as quickly as possible,” the company said.
The company reiterated that its operations remain unaffected and compliant with applicable regulations, even as unrest continues in parts of the industrial belt.
The clarification comes amid reports of worker protests in Noida and nearby regions, where tensions escalated over wage-related concerns.
The developments have raised concerns across sectors with a large manufacturing presence, including auto and auto components, given the concentration of industrial activity in these regions.
However, Motherson’s statement indicates that the issue is broader in nature and not company-specific, with no immediate operational disruption reported.
