Chola MS General Insurance H1 GWP grows 7.1% to ₹4,517 crore
Chola MS General Insurance reports 7.1% H1 premium growth to ₹4,517 crore and ₹78.29 crore profit, while floods and claims impact Q2 performance.

Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company recorded a Gross Written Premium of Rs 4,517 crore for the half-year ended September 30, 2026, marking a 7.1 per cent growth over the same period last year.
GWP in the corresponding period last year was Rs 4,217 crore.
For Q2 FY27, GWP rose to Rs 2,386 crore from Rs 2,220 crore in Q2 FY26, a company release here on Saturday said.
The joint venture between Murugappa Group and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group reported a Profit Before Tax (PBT) of Rs 97.56 crore and a Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 78.29 crore for H1 FY27.
However, Q2 FY27 saw a pre-tax loss of Rs 19 crore compared to a PBT of Rs 121 crore in Q2 FY26, impacted by a challenging claims environment and Natcat (natural catastrophe) events like floods in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Assam.
Despite these challenges, Chola MS settled over 3.5 lakh non-crop claims in H1 FY27, backed by a network of over 17,800 garages and 15,000 hospitals.
The insurer's solvency ratio remained strong at 1.88 times, well above the required 1.5 times, the release added.
