HDFC Bank shares touched a new 52-week low of ₹669.20 on Wednesday, October 28, before recovering to trade at ₹684.35 on Thursday morning, down 0.14 per cent from the previous close of ₹685.30. The stock opened at ₹681.20, dipped to an intraday low of ₹678.10, and recovered to a high of ₹686.45 by 11.36 am. Buy orders dominated heavily at 75.55 per cent against 24.45 per cent sell orders, suggesting bargain hunting near the lows.

Wednesday’s fresh 52-week low of ₹669.20 supplants the previous low of ₹681.90 recorded on September 11, 2026, underscoring the continued erosion in the stock’s value.

The bank is now down nearly 31 per cent year-to-date, against the Nifty 50’s 12.61 per cent decline over the same period. The P/E ratio stands at 13.20. Traded volume stood at 79.06 lakh shares worth ₹540 crore by mid-session, with deliverable quantity at 60.40 per cent.

The broader banking index mirrored the volatile pattern. Bank Nifty formed a bullish intraday candle after hitting a session low of 53,626, recovering over 550 points to close near 54,250. The index traded at 54,267 in the previous session, with resistance at 54,500–54,750 and support at 53,950–53,620 for today.

HDFC Bank’s total market capitalisation stood at ₹10,55,797 crore.

The stock remains under pressure as the new leadership under MD & CEO Anup Bagchi is yet to provide a visible sentiment catalyst.
