US regulator certifies Boeing 737-10
FAA certifies Boeing 737-10; deliveries to begin soon as largest 737 MAX enters service.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has certified the newest and largest Boeing 737 MAX airplane, the 737-10, clearing the way for the aircraft maker to begin deliveries in the coming months. The 737-10 completes the 737 MAX family, which offers airlines a flexible single-aisle airplane lineup, says a statement from the company. The largest model builds on the family’s common architecture while taking capabilities to a new level, it said.
It can serve 230 passengers in the maximum seating configuration and offers the lowest per seat cost of any single-aisle airplane in service, Boeing said. The airplane also introduces safety enhancements, including an upgraded angle-of-attack system, which will become standard across the 737 MAX family.
