Shakti Pumps (India) secured orders worth about ₹268.88 crore within 1.5 hours after Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) opened its portal for farmers on August 27, 2025. All 10,000 off-grid solar pumps allocated in the first tranche were booked by farmers across Maharashtra.
The development follows MSEDCL’s empanelment of Shakti Pumps on August 12, 2025, for supplying and installing 34,720 off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems under the PM KUSUM B scheme, also known as Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana. The total empanelment covers the entire quota of 34,720 units.
The rapid uptake demonstrates significant farmer demand for solar-powered irrigation solutions in Maharashtra. Company Chairman Dinesh Patidar attributed the quick response to trust in the company’s technology and service capabilities.
Shakti Pumps, headquartered in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, operates two manufacturing facilities with a combined annual capacity of 500,000 pumps and motors.
