Silver prices rose 0.53 per cent to ₹2.31 lakh per kg in the futures trade on Thursday amid firm global trend.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the white metal for September delivery increased by ₹1,219, or 0.53 per cent, to ₹2,31,603 per kilogram in a business turnover of 1,325 lots.
Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in silver prices, analysts said.
In the overseas market, Comex silver futures increased 1.57 per cent to USD 62.07 per ounce.
