Top stocks in focus today, August 11 — Britannia, Glenmark, BEL, Mahindra EPC, Alkem, CarTrade

Britannia Industries informed the exchange that  Varun Berry has stepped down as Executive Vice-Chairman, Managing Director, and CEO of Britannia Industries. His resignation takes effect from the close of business on November 10, 2025. The board has waived his notice period and confirmed that Berry will also step down from multiple board committees, including CSR, Risk, Finance, and IT. In the interim, N. Venkataraman, currently the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer, will hold additional charge as Chief Executive Officer of the Company, till the joining of Rakshit Hargave on December 15.

Glenmark Specialty S.A., subsidiary of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals,  has received approval from China’s NMPA for RYALTRIS Compound Nasal Spray (GSP 301 NS). The spray is designed to treat Allergic Rhinitis in both adults and children.

Bharat Electronics (BEL) has won additional orders worth Rs 792 crore, the PSU major disclosed in an exchange filing. This is in addition to the Rs 633 crore orders that the company disclosed on October 30. The new contracts cover network upgrades, radars, drones, communication systems, and combat management solutions. BEL said the deals also include spares, services, and system upgrades for defence applications.

Mahindra EPC Irrigation has secured a contract from the Office of the Assistant Engineer, Community Micro Irrigation Project, for allied projects under the Community Micro Irrigation Systems. The size of the order is Rs 19.21 crore.  

According to market buzz, CarTrade Tech  is in advanced stages of acquiring CarDekho (Girnar Software Pvt. Ltd.) in a deal valued at over $1.2 billion.  The deal is likely to be a cash-and-stock transaction. The deal, currently in the due diligence phase, is expected to be announced soon, according to media report.

Alkem Laboratories has announced the successful completion of a European Union Good Manufacturing Practice (EU GMP) inspection at its manufacturing facility in Baddi, India. The inspection, conducted by the German Health Authority, concluded without any major issues being identified, marking a significant milestone for the company’s quality assurance efforts.
