Vikran Engineering wins ₹354-crore solar EPC contract in Maharashtra

Vikran Engineering has secured a ₹354-crore turnkey EPC contract from Ellume Energy MH SolarOne for a 100-MW AC/120 MW DC solar power project in Maharashtra, the company announced on Monday.

The project will be executed on a lump-sum basis and covers the complete scope of design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of the solar power plant. The contract requires adherence to technical standards and safety norms, with major components such as PV modules, inverters and transformers to be sourced from tier-1 manufacturers complying with IEC and BIS standards.

Rakesh Markhedkar, Chairman and Managing Director, Vikran Engineering, said the order strengthens the company’s capabilities in large-scale renewable energy projects and aligns with its strategy to expand its EPC presence in clean energy infrastructure. The project is expected to enhance Maharashtra’s clean energy capacity and support India’s national renewable energy targets.

The contract marks a significant step in Vikran Engineering’s diversification beyond its established presence in power transmission, water and rail infrastructure sectors. The Mumbai-based company has completed 45 projects across 14 States, working with clients including NTPC, Power Grid Corporation of India and various State utilities. The firm operates through an asset-light model supported by in-house design capabilities and a supply chain network of over 3,500 vendors.
