Vintage Coffee doubles capacity with 4,500 MTPA brownfield expansion

Vintage Coffee and Beverages Limited (VCBL) on Monday commissioned an additional 4,500 metric tonne per annum (MTPA) of soluble coffee production capacity under its brownfield expansion project, taking its total installed capacity to 11,000 MTPA from 6,500 MTPA earlier.

The expansion has been executed at the instant coffee manufacturing facilities of a wholly owned subsidiary, located near Rachur Village, Veldanda Mandal, Nagar Kurnool District, Telangana. The company said the plant was commissioned ahead of its committed timeline of March 31, 2026.

The Hyderabad-based company said the new capacity is expected to enhance production by approximately 70 per cent on a per annum basis. Following the expansion, VCBL’s annual production capabilities stand at 6,000 metric tons of spray-dried coffee and 5,000 metric tons of agglomerated coffee. The entire expansion has been funded through internal accruals.

“The new equipment are performing satisfactorily and are expected to enhance the production by approximately 70 per cent on an annual basis,” said Balakrishna Tati, Chairman and Managing Director, Vintage Coffee and Beverages Limited. He added that the company expects to ramp up production at the new facility through Q1FY27 and remains on track to achieve its FY27-FY28 plans.

On the West Asia situation, Tati said the coffee industry remains largely unaffected as major coffee-producing nations are not located in that region, and raw material availability is robust.

Separately, VCBL said it has commenced development of a greenfield freeze-dried instant coffee plant near Hyderabad, equipped with European technology, with a planned capacity of 5,500 MTPA. The facility is expected to commence commercial production next year.

Shares of VCBL were trading at ₹131.10 on the NSE on Monday, down 0.56 per cent from the previous close of ₹131.84.
