Waaree Energies maintains top solar module supplier position in India

retained its position as India’s leading solar module supplier with a 14 per cent market share in the first half of fiscal year 2025, according to JMK Research & Analytics Q2 2025 Solar Report released today.

The Mumbai-based clean energy company’s dominance comes as India added 4.2 GW of new utility-scale solar capacity and 1.3 GW of rooftop installations in the April-June 2025 quarter. The additions pushed India’s cumulative solar capacity to 91 GW, with over 70 GW of projects currently under development.

Amit Paithankar, Whole-time Director & CEO of Waaree Energies, attributed the company’s success to its focus on quality, innovation and customer service. He emphasized that maintaining market leadership reflects the company’s commitment to building India’s solar self-reliance under the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.

Waaree operates with a global module manufacturing capacity of approximately 16.7 GW and domestic cell manufacturing capacity of 5.4 GW. The company’s international presence includes major orders such as 452 MW in the United States, demonstrating Indian solar manufacturing’s growing global reach.

India aims to achieve 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and is projected to add over 30 GW of solar capacity in fiscal year 2026. Founded in 1990, Waaree operates manufacturing facilities across India and 25 countries, offering solar panels, inverters, EPC services and energy storage solutions.
