Waaree Energies Limited announced on Wednesday that it has signed as the Title Sponsor for Rajasthan Royals in the upcoming IPL T20 season. The Mumbai-headquartered solar energy company will have its branding displayed on the front of the team’s official playing and training kits.
Waaree’s stock closed at ₹3,184.80 on the NSE on March 18 — up 10.46 per cent from its previous close of ₹2,883.10, touching an intraday high of ₹3,223.80.
Hitesh Doshi, Chairman and Managing Director of Waaree, said the partnership would help take the clean energy message beyond industry circles to a mass audience, describing cricket as a cultural force capable of driving a people’s movement around energy transition.
Alok Chitre, COO of Rajasthan Royals, termed Waaree its Main Principal Sponsor and said the tie-up reflected the franchise’s philosophy of linking cricket with innovation and social purpose.
Founded in 1990, Waaree operates solar PV module manufacturing capacity of approximately 22.3 GW globally and solar cell capacity of up to 5.4 GW. The company is present across India and more than 25 countries, offering products and services spanning solar panels, EPC, green hydrogen, and battery storage.
