Chennai-based digital healthcare start-up Rewin Health has launched JADHU, an interactive platform with therapeutic exercises and games for differently-abled children, teens and adults.
The platform combines virtual reality with personalised AI software to help individuals with autism, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) and other learning disabilities build skills for everyday life. It has been validated with eight premier medical institutions, special schools and care organisations.
It is intended to bridge the gap between traditional clinic-based care and accessible home-based support.
After an initial assessment, JADHU generates 30 minute sessions drawn from a library of over 200 games. These games help develop skills across domains like cognition, communication focus, attentions and sensory regulation among others.
Users can interact using low-cost Jadhu Viewer headset or specialised immersive Meta Quest headsets at partner clinics, hospitals and schools.
The platform was launched at an event here on Wednesday and saw the presence of S Madhumathi, Secretary, Department for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, Government of Tamil Nadu.
“JADHU exists because too many families in Tamil Nadu are told to wait for a professional to have time to see their child. Over 72 per cent of families with differently abled children are not in structured therapy at all. JADHU puts 60 minutes of guided, personalised practice into the home every day, in the situations where independence is actually needed and gives the therapist objective data on what happened in between,” Vijay Karunakaran, Founder and CEO, Rewin Health said.
As part of the launch, Rewin Heath has announced an initiative to provide the JADHU platform free of cost to 500 differently-abled families across Tamil Nadu with an investment of ₹3 crore earmarked for the same.
