Adani Group Chairperson Gautam Adani has overtaken Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director (MD) of Reliance Industries (RIL), to become Asia’s richest person, according to the latest data on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
As of April 17, 2026, Adani’s net worth stands at $92.6 billion, slightly ahead of Ambani’s $90.8 billion. The two have been close in rankings for some time, with their positions changing depending on movements in their respective businesses.
The latest ranking places Adani at the top spot in Asia, with Ambani now in second place. Both remain among the top 25 richest people globally, even as their wealth levels have seen changes this year.
Globally, the list continues to be dominated by technology entrepreneurs. Elon Musk continues to lead with a net worth of $656 billion.
He is followed by Larry Page at $286 billion and Jeff Bezos at $269 billion. Sergey Brin is close behind with $266 billion, while Mark Zuckerberg’s net worth stands at $239 billion.
Larry Ellison has a fortune of $230 billion, and Michael Dell follows with $170 billion. Jensen Huang and Bernard Arnault are tied at $164 billion each, while Jim Walton completes the top 10 with a net worth of $150 billion.
In India, after Gautam Adani at $92.6 billion and Mukesh Ambani at $90.8 billion, Lakshmi Mittal ranks third with $36.9 billion.
Shiv Nadar follows with $33.5 billion, and Shapoor Mistry & family are close at $33.2 billion. Savitri Jindal’s net worth stands at $32.7 billion.
Sunil Mittal & family have a fortune of $25.1 billion, while Dilip Shanghvi’s wealth is $24.2 billion. Azim Premji is valued at $22.5 billion, and Kumar Mangalam Birla rounds off the top 10 with $22.4 billion.
