Waaree Energies unit bags green hydrogen project in Karnataka

Waaree Clean Energy Solutions Private Ltd (WCES), a wholly owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies Ltd., has secured an order to develop a green hydrogen project at TMEIC Industrial Systems India’s facility in Tumkur, Karnataka, the company announced on May 15, 2026.

The project will set up an integrated green hydrogen ecosystem covering production, storage, and utilisation within a single industrial site. WCES will deploy a hybrid system combining both PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) and Alkaline electrolysers, managed through centralised automation for operational flexibility.

Beyond hydrogen generation, the project scope includes compression, storage, and a high-pressure refuelling station. It will also feature an EV charging unit powered by hydrogen fuel cells, making it one of the few installations in India to demonstrate combined hydrogen and electric mobility in one location.

WCES will manage the project end-to-end — from engineering and procurement through commissioning — and will operate and maintain the facility for five years post-commissioning.

The project is framed as aligned with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission and is intended to serve as a replicable model for future deployments. Anuj Sharma, CEO of WCES, said the project reflects the company’s focus on building scalable green hydrogen solutions to support India’s clean energy shift.

WCES offers integrated clean energy services spanning solar, green hydrogen and energy storage, backed by Waaree Energies’ manufacturing and execution base.
