Godrej Pet Care (GPC), a subsidiary of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (GCPL), has entered the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana markets. To start with, it launched Godrej Ninja, a pet-care food brand for dogs.
“The launch follows its successful debut in Tamil Nadu and marks a significant step in the company’s ambition to build a pan-India presence in the rapidly growing pet care segment,” Nitin Jain, Chief Operating Officer, Godrej Pet Care, said.
“The pet care market is estimated to be at ₹6,000 crore. Of this, pet food contributes about ₹5,000 crore. The South has the potential to account for ₹1,800–2,000 crore,” he said.
The company said that this segment has the potential to grow in double digits.
rapid expansion
“With a ₹500 crore investment in pet care over the next few years, we are aiming for rapid expansion in Southern India by making high-quality pet food nutrition accessible to a larger community of pet parents,” Jain said.
“With the national pet food market growing at over 14 per cent annually, we expect Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to outpace that trajectory, driven by the rising aspirations of urban pet parents in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam,” he said.
