Anant Raj stock jumps 8% in midday trade, leads realty gainers on heavy volume

Shares of surged over 8 per cent in intraday trade on Thursday, making it the top gainer on the Nifty Realty index. By 12.25 pm, the stock was trading at ₹636.30, up ₹47.45 from its previous close of ₹588.85. It touched an intraday high of ₹640.25, with 60.1 per cent of orders on the buy side.

Volume was exceptionally heavy. Over 1 crore shares changed hands by 11 am, approximately 8.4 times the 10-day average. By midday, traded volume had crossed 170.86 lakh shares, with a traded value of over ₹1,075 crore.

The rally comes against the backdrop of a series of significant corporate developments over the past several months. In July, the company’s board approved a Composite Scheme of Arrangement to demerge its data centre and cloud services business into a separately listed entity called Ashok Cloud Private Limited. Under the scheme, shareholders of Anant Raj will receive one share of Ashok Cloud for each share held in Anant Raj. The demerger is subject to approvals from the NCLT, SEBI, stock exchanges, and other regulatory authorities.

The company also reported solid earnings for the June 2026 quarter, with net profit rising 19 per cent year-on-year to ₹150 crore, revenue up 7 per cent to ₹631 crore, and EBITDA growing 22 per cent to ₹183 crore. EBITDA margins improved to 29.1 per cent from 25.4 per cent a year earlier.

Despite today’s sharp gains, the stock remains 17.6 per cent below its 52-week high of ₹743.65, touched in October 2025. This is also the stock’s biggest single-day gain in roughly five months. The stock has gained only three times in the last ten trading sessions prior to today, and over a one-year horizon it has outperformed the Nifty Realty index with a 17.24 per cent return versus the index’s 2.62 per cent.
