Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited (ABD) on Monday commenced commercial operations at its bottling facility in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, adding an initial capacity of 6 million cases per annum to its manufacturing network.

The Moradabad unit was part of assets acquired in January 2026 for approximately ₹70 crore and was subsequently upgraded with a further investment of around ₹40 crore. ABD said the facility is expected to improve service efficiency and reduce costs through higher in-house bottling and savings on franchise fees.

The Moradabad plant is one piece of a larger capital deployment in Uttar Pradesh, where ABD has committed over ₹600 crore. That outlay also covers the development of an integrated facility with a dual-mode distillery and additional bottling capacity. Managing Director Amar Sinha described backward integration, greater control over the value chain and captive ENA supply, as a central strategic pillar.

ABD currently operates 40 manufacturing units, including 10 owned bottling facilities and 2 owned distilleries. Its portfolio includes Officer’s Choice, Sterling Reserve, and ICONiQ White, with a presence across 39 international markets.

On the NSE, ABD shares were trading at ₹743.55 at the time of the announcement, down 0.68 per cent on the day, against a 52-week high of ₹766.90 hit just four days earlier on October 15. The stock has gained nearly 35 per cent over the past year, though its trailing P/E of approximately 99.86 remains elevated. Market capitalisation stood at roughly ₹20,808 crore, with sell-side order flow outpacing buyers at the time of reporting, at roughly a 67:33 ratio.
