Ekta Kapoor’s announced a strategic partnership with YouTube on Friday to co-produce and distribute five original shows comprising 200 episodes, marking a significant pivot by the Mumbai-based production house toward digital-first content delivery.
The shows, to be produced in 4K, will be distributed globally on YouTube, with Balaji retaining intellectual property rights while YouTube provides distribution and monetisation through advertising and brand deals. The confirmed titles include Haq Se Season 2, Phir Pyar Ki Yeh Kahani Suno, and Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai Season 4, with additional projects currently under development. The content is slated to roll out during the upcoming festive season on the @TheIndianKDrramas channel.
The announcement comes as YouTube reported reaching over 75 million adults aged 18 and above in India on Connected TV in April 2025, and holds the top reach position on CTV screens in India among media platforms as per Comscore data from May 2025.
Balaji Telefilms stock on the showed a muted market reaction. Shares were trading at ₹91.47 as of 2.18 pm on Friday, up just 0.18 per cent from the previous close of ₹91.31, after touching an intraday high of ₹95.70. The stock has declined approximately 15.64 per cent over the past year, with a 52-week high of ₹141.32 hit in September 2025. Total market capitalisation stands at roughly ₹1,115 crore.
Sell-side pressure was notably dominant, with 79.68 per cent of the day’s order flow on the sell side against 20.32 per cent on the buy side, on traded volume of 7.93 lakh shares worth ₹7.36 crore. The stock carries a 61.90 per cent annualised volatility, reflecting continued investor uncertainty around the company’s financial trajectory, with EPS based on trailing four quarters currently at zero.
