Bandhan Bank CFO Rajeev Mantri resigns, to leave in September

‘s chief financial officer resigned on Monday, the private sector lender said in a filing to stock exchanges, citing as his reason for leaving.

Mantri, who also held the title of executive president, submitted his resignation letter to managing director and CEO on June 29. His last working day will be September 25.

In his resignation letter, Mantri thanked the bank’s board, executive directors, colleagues and stakeholders for their support during his tenure. “I have enjoyed working at Bandhan Bank and contributing towards the strategic transformation of the bank,” he wrote, adding that he would be leaving with enriching experience and learnings.

Bandhan Bank disclosed the development to BSE and the National Stock Exchange under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s listing obligations and disclosure requirements, which mandates listed companies to promptly inform exchanges of changes in key managerial personnel.

      The Kolkata-headquartered bank has not yet announced a successor to Mantri.

      Mantri, a chartered accountant from ICAI with an executive MBA from INSEAD Business School in Singapore, brought over 25 years of banking and finance experience across India, Singapore and the UAE when he joined Bandhan Bank in February 2024.

      He came to the role from Citi, where he had served as CFO for the India cluster for three years. Before that, he was CFO at TransUnion CIBIL, India’s largest credit bureau, and spent over 15 years with Standard Chartered Bank in senior finance roles across India and Singapore. He also led the finance function for corporate and investment banking at Mashreqbank in the UAE.

      Mantri succeeded Abhijit Ghosh, who had been serving as interim CFO since October 2023, after Sunil Samdani resigned from the role in July that year. 
