Bank holidays July 2026: State-wise list of closures

Bank branches across India will observe a modest number of closures in July 2026, with the holiday schedule concentrated in states such as Jammu & Kashmir, Sikkim, Mizoram, Tripura, and a handful of others. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issues the official holiday calendar, and with 8 scheduled closures this month — including the second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays — customers across most of the country will find their local branches largely accessible throughout the month. Digital banking services including UPI, net banking, and mobile apps, along with ATM access, will remain unaffected on all holidays.

List of bank holidays:

Date Day Holiday State
1 July 2026 Wednesday Guru Hargobind Ji’s Birthday Jammu & Srinagar
6 July 2026 Monday MHIP Day Mizoram
11 July 2026 Saturday Second Saturday All states
12 July 2026 Sunday Weekend All states
13 July 2026 Monday Bhanu Jayanti Sikkim
13 July 2026 Monday Martyrs’ Day Jammu & Kashmir
21 July 2026 Tuesday Kharchi Puja Tripura
25 July 2026 Saturday Fourth Saturday All states
26 July 2026 Sunday Weekend All states
31 July 2026 Friday Shaheed Udham Singh’s Martyrdom Day Punjab and Haryana

Customers in Jammu & Srinagar should note closures on July 1 and July 13, while those in Sikkim face two shutdowns within the same week with Bhanu Jayanti on July 13 and Drukpa Tsheshi on July 18. For much of the country, however, July 2026 is a comparatively light month, with the only universal closures being the second Saturday (July 11) and fourth Saturday (July 25). Notably, July 16 sees regional holidays in both Manipur/Odisha (Ratha Yatra) and Uttarakhand (Harela), but these do not fall on a Saturday or Sunday, so customers in those states should plan branch visits accordingly. For time-sensitive transactions, using NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, or UPI is recommended to avoid delays — these services operate round the clock, including on all gazetted holidays.
