Captain Polyplast, a micro-irrigation solutions maker, has secured a ₹47-crore order from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution company for 2,000 solar water pumping systems under the PM-KUSUM B scheme.
The order covers the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems at identified farmer sites across Maharashtra.
The contract is expected to strengthen Captain Polyplast’s order book and provide greater visibility for revenues from its EPC business. The company has previously executed orders for MSEDCL and said the latest award would enable it to scale up operations in the State.
The order comes amid government efforts to expand solar-powered irrigation and reduce dependence on conventional sources of electricity for agriculture. Captain Polyplast said favourable policy support under PM-KUSUM and a growing pipeline of government tenders could provide further opportunities in the segment.
Ritesh Khichadia, Whole Time Director, Captain Polyplast said the company was equipped to execute the order in the stipulated timelines, citing its experience in delivering previous MSEDCL projects.
“Solar water pumping is a high-priority segment under the PM-KUSUM scheme, and we have been steadily building our capabilities to capture opportunities of this scale,” said Khichadia.
The 2,000 pumps will be installed at identified farmer locations across Maharashtra. The company said the project would support sustainable irrigation while adding scale to its EPC operations.
Captain Polyplast has a diversified business spanning micro-irrigation solutions and solar EPC projects. The company said its distribution network and expanding project pipeline would support growth in the segment.
The latest award adds to its near-term project pipeline as the company seeks to expand its presence in government-led irrigation and renewable-energy programmes.
